is this the one with the XDCAM disk icon? Because i believe its the one i have. I hate the one that comes with the camera because it watermarks the footage when you export it. I hate it but if there is a more updated version of the one i am currently using i wouldnt mind updating it.
ooh and btw great XxS pages..i was using the search feature on this site and came across your page. ALOT!! of good info on there. Helped me out when i was buying myself a SxSxSDHC hoodman adapter & SDHC cards. Appreciate all the info!! |

Glad to hear the pages still continue to help people.
This version of Clip Broswer was only released a few days ago and is the latest. Not all of the export options watermark the output, only the ones that use a mainconcept encoder internally which require you to purchase the codec pack from MainConcept to eliminate the watermark. Some, like MXF for NLEs, DV (AVI) & MXF for XDCAM to not watermark natively. Unfortunately I have found this version still corrupts the MXF for NLEs output for Avid Liquid. You still have to export using version 2.0 for Liquid support with MXF in HD. Interesting though, the new MXF for DVCAM export imports fine into Liquid....

Still can't get it, guyB, the monitor keeps coming up white; I'm out of town on a shoot for two weeks and using the public library here, I think that's the problem. I'll try it from another source later if I can! Tell me why Sony dosen't have the 2.6 version on their web site? -- Carl

I downloaded it from here;
http://support.sonybiz.net/software/...W&model=XDZ-P1 I had to uninstall the old version then install the new and reboot to make it work though, not sure if that helps you or not. I had to register with sony first though. Last edited by Steve Benjamin; 11-04-2009 at 02:22 PM. Reason: forgot to add |

The bug where Clip Browser writes a corrupt file when "new clip from in/out points" still has not been fixed. Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.20 still chokes when dropping such clips onto the timeline.
The new version exports MXF for NLEs with FOUR not TWO mono audio streams. Very odd. The first two are real, the last two have no audio information. Also, like the earlier Clip Browsers, it appears to export MXF for NLE as INTERLACED video. The color resolution is halved, and there is a Venetian blind effect on the MXF version of a given clip, when compared with the original MP4 clip in Adobe Premiere. I still have to export MXF to get glitch-free audio (there is a couple of milliseconds of audio from somewhere else in the clip inserted at every 4GB splitpoint on clips over 3 minutes in length on the original MP4 version in Premiere), then separate the audio from the video, export the audio as WAV and add to project, then delete the MXF version and use the MP4 version's video, while splitting off it's audio and marrying the audio derived from MXF. That's the only way to get audio without the glitch every 3 minutes.
