I thought they looked great and authentic to the originals.

But the comedy wasn't there. Why exactly does the old PC guy get a young hot chick?

also... now a days, macs can run windows too... even within osx. does that not make the vast majority of the mac vs. pc a little obsolete?

for the record, i don't own a mac!

If you'd like to share, I'm curious as to how you achieved the white room/white void effect as well.

I think people should just use what fits their needs, everyone will ALWAYS preference (just not my gf when it comes to mac-pc usage...HAHA)

Truthfully I would like to give two thumbs and a smile for the well done visuals. I am also curious on how was the white room effect properly done? I had some obvious Ideas, but I want know what do you others have to share? Was the shot done In a physically all-white room (silly noob kinda ?) or was it done with greenscreen and then chromakeyed or whatever to insert the white BG?

Word! The Mac vs PC is the gayest of gay arguments. Both run on Intel, both run Windows and there are guys on here getting menstrual about a spoof. Like any of us do spreadsheets, i've been a PC user for aeons and I still can't work excel. Hey quite frankly I don't have a Mac becuase I cant justify the price...right now. It is the one thing I absolutely need that I can cut cost on. My Dell with identical specs to the macbook pro was 1147 incl shipping...mac book 2400. Hey if you can swing it more power to you! But to swear loyalty to one or another like its Islam vs. Christianity is freaking retarded.

Greenscreen + chromakey filter seems the obvious solution.
 
It was alright, I wish it focused on the actual things that weren't about the people who own them but the actual downfalls of the MAC itself

Some of them were good, others the payoff (such as the Late one) felt a little contrived and weak

Exactly who gives a **** - for me it's always been:

I don't like FCP

I don't like the frequent random crashes I've experienced on MACs (as I've used them all my life in various schools, we never had PCs)

I don't like the ridiculous price increase to get something that has the same specs as my PC

A person in my household has a mac, a g5 - i tried opening my friends myspace and the thing starts whirring and freezes up - i can only move my mouse every 10 seconds

it continues to load...


i walk downstairs and open the same website on my pc and bam there's everything i need, without hiccups, all while listening to the new justin timberlake album and downloading the children of men 720p hd trailer, and the DIVX of Event Horizon

Plus I like playing games

Yeah, PCs get viruses, I have some and a bunch of spyware on my pc right now, but I still crash much more frequently and randomly while websurfing on macs

Hell, even guys I work with admit that yeah, a PC is better bang for your buck, but it doesnt have SHAAKE ooo or maya

so there ya have it

who gives a ****, you can spend a bunch of extra money on a new fancy mac but if your **** still sucks what then?

a better camera?

more lighting equipment?

Your **** still sucks?

The Apple/PC personifications concept jumped the shark awhile back. I'm a Mac user. It's time for Apple to move on from this very tired concept.

Sorry to post off topic. The parody's are very well done-photographically speaking. Nice work. I think you should push the envelope a little harder though in terms of content. I mean, why not (since you've already put in all the effort) go that extra mile and show something "unfit" for TV... not necesarily graphic, just more off color.
 
Hey guys! Wow, this generated lots of discussion. Glad to see that :) Actually, this was shot in a white-cyc studio. I only had one small Lowell DV kit and 3 redheads to work with (donated to the production) whereas the original spots probably had close to 30 lights! Haha.

OMG hilarious, absolutely killed me. I'm a pc and mac person so i'm not one of these upity can't take a joke mac diehards. I mean come on guys thats exactly the point of the real commercial, young hip look for mac to be cool to the youngins. And the younings like to laugh! Well executed compared to most of the other rip offs i see, and like i said, hilarious. The dollar bill had me rollin.
 
normally don't like these parodys... but i like these , and the girl one did make me laugh.

i'm on a pc and ive witnessed the superiority complex mac users have , so i get these adverts..sometimes these people are too far up their own arses ...and b4 Xp i'd probably agree with pc being inferior ( crashing ect ) but since 2001 i'd argue.

in saying that... i wouldnt mind spending a month with a mac to see how it deals with all the software i use .. then i might convert!!
 
i really think that they should have spent more than five minutes coming up with the treatments for these parodies. The money one, yeah it was pretty funny, but the others seemed like they just came up with the idea on the spot. "Umm..a girl..umm walks up to PC for no particular reason..and umm...oh..we can portray MAC as being gay, cause he has to make a movie for a male user. Really clever...
 
I thought they were pretty good, they made me laugh. I don't care about the debate as far as Mac & PC go, what may have been a valid argument years ago is no longer relevant in this day. They are both good machines and both serve a means to an end. I use PC simply because of software availability and upgradability, No other reason. My friends use Macs and like them a lot for what they need them for, nuff said. Great work, they looked great, they made me laugh.
 
quality is great. i like the music one. i laughed. i love macs and pc (when their clean) i hate itunes.
 
who cares, I think they're funny. people that get all excited over these are seriously insecure about their brand loyalty.
I use a mac, always have always will, but i can def appreciate the humour and well execution in these spoofs.
 
imo, these spoofs were far from "well executed". They lacked the cleverness that the actual MAC vs PC ads have.

They are not based on any real facts: Macs don't get high, PC's don't only have hot girl users, and MACs don't only have male users.

its kinda hard to come up with ideas, i guess, because MACs can do anything PCs can do and more. The only thing I could see them talking about is the price difference.

I'm a designer that has had a mac my whole computer like. My mac classic still works. i use it to play joust.
